This video recap should have been finished much sooner. Obviously. But such is life, and nearly a year later, it’s finally done!

In May 2025, Amanda and I returned to Arizona for our second attempt at the Sedona Canyon 125. After making it roughly 40 miles in 2024, our goal was to apply what we had learned, get beyond that point, and see just how far we could go.

This time, we made it to mile 80.

An incredibly difficult 18-mile section put us behind on nutrition and up against the cutoffs, while a growing hip issue made the decision at Kelly Canyon fairly clear. It was another DNF, but also twice the distance of our first attempt and an effort I’m genuinely proud of.

I registered again for 2026, but a case of shingles forced me to withdraw six weeks before the race. So now, the unfinished business gets pushed to 2027.

This race still has me in its grip. For now, here’s the long-overdue video recap from attempt number two.
