Once again .. too long since a blog post.. but such is life.
Quick update — training is going well, the training miles are ticking upward and the calendar is ticking downward! With that being said, I've picked a date and location for my longest training run and I wanted to share… more on that in a sec.
Originally, I was thinking of heading to Georgia for the Lady of The Lakes event. After another friend opted to skip it, I too passed. A combination of reasons, but the main one being financial if I am being honest!
So.. what will be my “LONG” training run? It's gonna be local to me here NC and the details are below:
Location: American Tobacco Trail.
Date: Oct 15, 2022
Start time: ~5:15am!
Basic Needs:Aid Station Support & Pacer(s)
Route/Details – See map below
Starting at New Hill Road Trail head, running north to parking lot at SouthPoint Crossing Drive and Fayettville Road. 15.8 miles.. Then turnaround and head back! ~ 31.6 total miles
Aid Station Locations —
Provide water, snacks, food. Drop bags could be arranged for turnaround if runner(s) want/need.

1/2 way point ~7 1/2 miles

Who can run? Anyone. It’s OTB. So… F3, FiA, Friends of both, neighbors!? That said, I do believe it might be easier to keep smallish.. 10-30 people?

Do I need to sign up to run or pace or volunteer?

What is the Start Time so early?
It’s my event. That’s why. If you want to start later and/or somewhere else for parts of it, totally fine with me.
