A solid week IMO! Pretty sure I ran close to the most miles I’ve done in a week outside of a race event/day. How do I feel you ask? Not too bad!
I’ve been working on recovery and self care, as I had a massage last week as well as took a soak with some runners bath salts my friend sent me year or so back! Leg recovery from back to back runs is pretty good!
Strava Stats – August 12, 2024 – August 18, 2024
- 37.33 miles ran
- 9hrs 26 mins time on feet
- •1726 ft elevation
Workouts & Run Recap:
- Mon: Rest Day.
- Tue: 74 mins – Intervals/Tempo Work. Slept like crap. Was up little after 3:45am. Stopped fighting it. Dressed and out door at 4:20. Started slow, but then got a bit slower!? Felt a little better towards end, but the doubt creeped into my head. Not all runs are great. Right glute really sore.
- Wed: 30 mins – recovery run. Basic.
- Thur: 1hr:05 mins – Tempo Work/Endurance. Coach gave me the option so I went with endurance, and it was actually kinda fun! Weather was nice, cooler.
- Fri: 30 mins – recovery. Basic.
- Sat: 2hr:30min – The long run of the week. Started really strong. Slight bonk at the end as I didn’t bring enough nutrition. Though realized I did have 2 more things in the big pocket on my pack. Doh!
- Sun: 45 mins – Actually did double as Jeff Winchester was in town!
Overall Recap
Though I feel good about the week, I’m struggling on the mental side a little bit. Specially, the issue is that I want my pace to be “good” vs time on feet. I really need to get past that again.
Also, I’m on the fence on the issue of getting certified as a running coach. Just feels weird to offer that. It’s a small investment, but could be useful for my own knowledge as well. Will I make a living offering it to people, prob not, but as I do want to help people get unstuck, perhaps it’s worth it?
Onwards!
