So… three weeks without a weekly update? What gives? Well, life gives—and takes. Energy, time, motivation, and whatever else it feels like snatching up in the moment.
It’s not that I haven’t been running or working out. I have. But I didn’t feel like I did enough to actually share, which is ridiculous when you think about it. This whole “not enough” feeling is probably tied to the imposter syndrome I wrote about a few weeks ago (in case you missed it, you can check it out here.
So, what did I actually do over the past three weeks? Let’s break it down:
The Running Log:
- Solo runs? Check.
- TUFF runs? Check.
- FRC runs? Check
- The mileage? 6.7 + 20 + 2 + 4.1 + 4.75 = 37.55 miles
- That 20-miler was in the mountains of Uwharrie National Forest—which was REALLY hard (like, “rethink my life choices” hard)
The Strength & Recovery Log:
- Only two F3 HIIT workouts. Oops.
- Some stretching… probably not enough.
- Definitely not enough water (hello, dehydration!).
- Definitely too much sugar (hello, inflammation!).
- One Massage. Check.
The Life Log:
- Both parents in the hospital (because apparently, life decided running wasn’t challenging enough).
The Mental Health Factor:
Truth is, sometimes life piles on and it takes a toll—mentally and physically. And when that happens, even the things we love (like running) can feel… heavy. But here’s the thing: showing up, even in the smallest way, still counts. A few miles, a half-hearted stretch session, an extra sip of water—none of it is wasted effort.
If you’re feeling like you’re not doing “enough” right now, I see you. Just keep moving forward, even if it’s at a slow shuffle. (And maybe drink some water. I know I need to.)
See you out there!
